DMW Finishes up their training before their trip to the Florida Keys

Diveheart Military Wounded volunteers & veterans with disabilities from Edward Hines Veterans Administration Hospital in Maywood, Illinois spent May 10th preparing for their scuba adventure trip to Key Largo, Florida.  Thanks to a grant from the Illinois Department of Veterans Affairs, the veterans were able to train in Illinois and additional fundraising enabled them to participate on this life changing trip to the Keys.

Chicago State University Opens up its Doors to Diveheart and local Children with Disabilities

Chicago State University and Diveheart teamed up on May 9th to bring local children with disabilities the experience of scuba diving.  Participants came from the CSU children’s swim program & Shriners Hospital for Children.

   

Aurora University Students Shoot a Hole in One For Diveheart

Students For Diveheart from Aurora University in Aurora, IL http://www.aurora.edu/ rallied Saturday April 18th to host a golf outing fundraiser at Fox Bend Golf course in Oswego Illinois.   The army of volunteer students did everything from organizing the dinner and silent auction to staffing the closest to the pin and other promotional sponsorship holes.  The proceeds will go to benefit children, adults and veterans with disabilities as they work to build confidence and independence through the sport of scuba diving.

Diveheart Disabled Dive Training in Fort Lauderdale

Scuba Instructors from the Ft Lauderdale area gear up during Diveheart disabled dive training.  The team will enhance the current instructor and buddy team in south Florida and grow the number of children, adults and veterans with disabilities who are able to scuba dive.
