PRESIDENTS MESSAGE:

Jim ElliottI am incredibly proud of all of you Friends of Diveheart. In eight short years, with your help, Diveheart has helped change the dive industry and subsequently touched the lives of thousands of disabled children and adults around the world.

Disabled dive training has been around since the late seventies but it was Diveheart that eight years ago began not only training disabled divers, and facilitating new programs, but unselfishly began promoting and marketing disabled diving to the dive community and the professional dive industry.

Diveheart's efforts have paid rich dividends. When we began, there was the Handicapped Scuba Association and IAHD (International Association of Handicapped Divers).

Diveheart promoted both organizations as well as any other legitimate disabled dive programs that started up. Today, three of the top five dive training agencies have disabled dive programs..and Diveheart promotes and supports all of them.

Diveheart has also helped spin off five non-profit 501 C 3 organizations that work with disabled divers from coast to coast.

Diveheart promotes and supports all the new dive programs for disabled veterans such as SUDS and the Wounded Warrior Project. Diveheart's own DMW (Diveheart Military Wounded) program has enjoyed unprecedented success.

Diveheart's efforts to support other organizations like CUFSF (Cody Unser First Step Foundation), Oceans For Youth and Camp H20 have helped build stronger disabled dive organizations around the country.

2008 is already proving to be an incredibly successful year. As Friends of Diveheart, know it is YOU that make the difference.

Keep spreading the word, keep volunteering, and donating because with your help..together..we will continue to do great things.

I believe Scuba Diving is the most powerful tool in the world to help individuals with disabilities..and I would like to share the following thoughts with you..
