Message from the President

Jim ElliottDear friends of Diveheart:

"It's the Chance of a Lifetime and a Lifetime of Chance"....lyrics to a song that best describe the Cody Unser First Step Foundation Scuba Adventure earlier this month in Nassau, Bahamas.

Diveheart was honored to be part of the twenty team contingent of disabled divers, buddies and instructors from around the country asked to participate.

We want to thank Cody and her team for having the vision and endurance to facilitate such a wonderful program.

Diveheart participant Reveca Torres is the focus of our feature story below.
Reveca, shared the experience with new found friends. Some children, some adults, some students and some veterans from the IRAQ war.

It is their spirt and courage that I noticed the most on the trip. Adapting and overcoming challenges that would be daunting for most of us.

They chose to take the "Chance of a Lifetime", even though it was filled with challenge and chance.

I challenge all of you to join them, support them, keep them diving and inspiring others....isn't it "high time you joined in the dance"?

Jim Elliott
President of Diveheart

Revaca and Her Diving Experience

It is to create an environment in which the dive community at large welcomes the disabled diver as one of their own and integrates them into their society. Reveca Torres is one diver who's making that dream a reality.
