Message from the President
Dear friends of Diveheart:
LEGACY......What will yours be? At Diveheart, we hope a hundred years from now children and adults with disabilities will still have the opportunity to experience the adventure of scuba.
We hope a hundred years from now Diveheart volunteers will be in pools, lakes and oceans around the world assisting disabled divers, helping them build confidence and independence.
In a few short weeks Diveheart will be bringing Reveca Torres, a quadriplegic girl from Shriners Children’s Hospital http://www.shrinershq.org and a team of divers down to the Bahamas as part of the Cody Unser First Step Foundation Scuba Adventure (http://www.cufsf.org).
This trip is made possible in part by the LEGACY of a true SUPERMAN....Christopher Reeve. His foundation www.ChristopherReeve.org has helped and continues to help The Cody Unser First Step Foundation invite twenty teams of disabled divers from around the country to experience her Scuba Adventure. During this year's Scuba Adventure, Cody will be joined by the Dive Pirates www.divepirates.org who will help produce and run the event.
At Diveheart we're excited about the opportunity to work with other wonderful organizations that are also doing great things for disabled children and adults as they pursue their own LEGACY of giving....
Jim Elliott
President of Diveheart
