Message from the President

Jim ElliottDear friends of Diveheart:

The future of Diveheart is in the hands of brave young pioneers like Greta Neimanas from RIC (Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago).

Dan Barrett's feature story on Greta touches us and brings us to the realization that champions and winners can come in all shapes, sizes and abilities.

As Diveheart continues to touch the lives of children and adults with disabilities through scuba diving young leaders will arise from their ranks and I pray many years from now those same leaders will be looking for younger leaders to continue their work ... our work .. Diveheart's work.

October is a very special month for Diveheart because it gives us a glimpse of the future.  The future successes of Diveheart trained instructors like the ones at Divetech http://www.divetech.com in Grand Cayman .  The future support of service organizations like local and international Rotary clubs http://www.dgrotary.org/ & Junior Women's Clubs http://www.dgjwc.org/ to name a few..

Diveheart's future will also be built upon the foundation of our success to date.  Confirmation of that success has been recently reflected by one of our newest friends ... Mike Letch of Australia who is traveling the world on a Winston Churchill Fellowship to identify the world best practices in disabled dive training. His words & experiences can be found at.. http://www.diveheart.org.

We get by with a little help from our friends... You, Friends of Diveheart, are shaping our future now.   Thank you for helping Diveheart continue to do great things..things for young champions like Greta.

Jim Elliott
President of Diveheart
